So this is a late post, but things happen I guess. Covid has made literally everything a struggle but we push though. I'm Kareem and I'm an awkward guy trying to make people laugh and stuff. I've never really had a blog before, other than my instagram accounts, but we learnin new things every day. My hustle game is ON POINT! I actually like the idea for a blog as participation more than interacting in class all the time, it feels performative sometimes. Like I love critiques, but sometimes I really have nothing to say other than "that was cool" or "I can tell you worked really hard on that" but I feel like my grade depends on me saying something all the time. PLUS, now I can post about cool animation things I've seen recently to document things. Like I saw the trailer for Urbance recently and it was so cool to look at, but I'm also a sucker for the Urban Pop Art graffiti vibe. A dream would be to make a animation series one day, but honestly I'd just love a job where I work in design and can do animation stuff on the side. I feel like I've been in love with animation my whole life. My first memory is playing Chrono Trigger and drawing the characters in action poses. I've been a Square Enix stan since I was like 3 years old, lol. If there was anything that made me want to do animation it's probably a combination of those japanese animation tricks where they would make really detailed animation that are re used like Sailor Moon transformations, Final Fantasy 7 and Chrono Trigger attack animations, and basically everything in Mob Psycho 100. I've never really done any animating before but I'm really enjoying it, ToonBoom makes it SO EASY. I'm still not use to digital painting and drawing, but I'm learning it as I go and I think I'm getting more and more comfortable with it. Hopefully when this class is over I can be animating little attack animations for my OCs. OH and dances! Kpop dances would be fun to animate too. (probably hard af too lol)
I'll figure out how to make this blog look nice (I hope) as the semester goes on, but I'm gonna keep it simple for now. When I do though, it'll probably be tanuki themed with some graffiti stuff. I use to do a decent amount of graffiti like any neighborhood degenerate lol. But with how little I sleep, the bags under my eyes make me look like a racoon, and honestly am I much different from a racoon? I just thought Tanukis might be a bit more palatable than a racoon.
