Weight

So this one took FOREVER. I didn't separate the limbs to different layers and it made drawing this HELL. Definitely learned that the hard way. Between the legs moving and the feet shifting, I had to redraw frames over and over. Luckily the bar was a sperate frame so I was able to animate that relatively easy. If I come back to this, I'll have him drop the bar but for now I'm glad he got it up lol.

Run Cycle

I'm actually pretty ecstatic about how this turned out. Wish I separated the sword on another layer though, I could have kept its shape far easier if I did. Based this run off a Megaman walk cycle and used one of my OCs as the character. My OC usually wears a short sleeve jacket though, so it going back and cleaning it up I had to remove it. If I had a bigger tablet, this would have been way easier to put details like that and hair on. It's ok though, for now I'm glad it's moving.

Keeping up is hard

Keeping up with this Blog is harder than I thought. I've been working on a lot of commissions lately and trying to keep up with school work but usually when I'm animating I make one mistake that I just have to make work sometimes which keeps me working on things way longer than I should. Been feelin really discouraged lately.  Supposed to be finished with this logo for a podcast by next week and the medallion is for a flyer that luckily is now due in January. Either way, this is just some personal work I've been doing.

Hair Flip and Head Turn

Note to self: Long hair is not fun to animate lol. I got lost in the hair that volume and consistency went by the wayside. At the very least, I got more in betweens this time than last time. I think maybe 3 more frames would make this solid. I actually will redo this one, because I actually enjoyed this project more than the others. When I tell you the sense of accomplishment from seeing the full turn, even limited, was the best part of 2020 lol I mean it.

If you notice the girl I was drawing for Digital Drawing practice was the design I wanted for this character. Maybe if I figure out how to draw on Toon Boom better, I can accomplish that.

Sack Boy Waving

So this was really had to animate because I kept trying to just copy the sack boy and editing it, but every time I did that it would change every frame of the character. I eventually started redrawing it in every frame just to get this. It was so time consuming and terrible. I since learned to use the timeline FAR BETTER. This just taught me how much in betweens are important. I do not want to do this kind of thing ever again lol.

Keep Forgetting to Update

I keep forgetting to update this blog, which is sad because I actually enjoy doing this. Anyway, here's some stuff I was doing to practice Digital Drawing lol.

Sack Boy Gestures

OK. OK. OK. So I loved this lol. I kinda wish I made more of them. It was not easy using a flour sack but I tried. The order of actions from top left to bottom right are: Neutral, Drinking, Sword attack, Thinking, Anger, Sleep, Startled, and Run/Walk. This was a lot of fun bc it reminded me of when I use to doodle chibi OCs in class when I was bored. I could literally do this all day. Like LITERALLY lol. The only one that really got me was the sword one and the drinking one. For drinking it was hard to use the top of the sack as an arm to hold the cup from that angle but I think if I rounded the top more and pushed it back it would have worked better. The sword one was hard because he was supposed to have his back to the screen but it still looks like he has his front to the camera instead. (yes its a mini Buster Sword lol) Part of me wants to have it switched to him facing forward but the action seems to broken to me. I think thats the biggest problem going from humans to sack though lol.

tanuki scoot scoot

So I finally went back and finished the overlapping action. When I started this clip weeks ago I was still using my tanuki character bu...
